Supporting our members to increase capabilities for innovation and collaboration, we have kicked-off a series of events across the UK aimed at the development of regional advocate and member networks.
14th October 2015 marked a significant milestone in the maturity of Simple Telehealth across the UK with the 1st of such regional network events being held in the East Midlands supported by the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network.
A diverse representation from Sheffield Combined Community and Acute Care Group, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Nottingham City CCG, NHS Mansfield and Ashfield CCG, NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands CSU, East Staffordshire CCG et al, contributed to an overwhelmingly positive day that truly enabled members of the network to share their learning, discuss emerging best practice, stimulate regional relationships and even facilitating agreement for collaborative evaluation across the region.
“It was great to meet up with everyone and to gain some insight into what others are doing so close to our organisation”“What a great event, I have gained so much out of today. The opportunity to network and collaborate with local organisations is exciting”“It’s great to be able to take away and share some of the ideas from today as existing examples of good practice that I can take straight back to my teams”
The event also held a preview of the short film commissioned as one of five films by the Health Foundation as part of their “Power of People” series with a unique and moving perspective of Flo from the eyes of her patients. The film will be on general release over the next 5 weeks and will feature in further regional network events, however the trailer of all 5 films is available here http://www.health.org.uk/powerofpeople The day also provided an opportunity for nhssimple to update on progress and successes from members across the UK to support wider collaboration and sharing and to offer pragmatic support.
The next East Midlands Regional Event will be on 29th January 2016 and will also feature local clinicians from Derbyshire discussing their success and approach to using Flo to support patients with diabetes, as this was an area the network felt would be both beneficial and scalable.
Further information on forthcoming regional network events will be on the website, or contact lisa.taylor@simple.uk.net
