Mark Holmes, Team Leader for Alcohol Related Long Term Condition Nurses, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and Sian Clark, Assistive Technology Innovation and Operational Manager, Mansfield and Ashfield CCG have published their article regarding Flo’s support to the identification of onset ascites.
The paper describes the implementation within the service with the results supporting not only the patient but the service’s ability to monitor and intervene when required. Flo’s integration into this pathway has shown true potential in engaging with this group, helping them to self-manage. The main outcomes cited in the paper were that Flo supported:
- An improvement in compliance with the patient’s care plan
- Increased monitoring information for the patient’s key worker
- A reduction in admissions
- Effective management and titration in the community setting
