Roundwood Surgery in Nottinghamshire have today gone live using a combination of Flo and Skype to carry out their weekly ward rounds.
Following the robust development and authorisation of a Standard Operating Procedure to address information governance issues, Roundwood Surgery in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire have gone live using Skype and Flo to carry out a weekly ward round with patients in a local care home on 19th December 2014.
The aim of this project is to increase access into primary care for patients within care homes and to support proactive delivery of care. This was demonstrated yesterday when one of the patients asked if the call could be used to review his medication. Patient feedback has been very positive.
A care home providing supported living for people with learning disabilities will be the second go live early in the New Year. A full evaluation of the project will be completed in March 2015.
